Like most,I had never heard of Mrs. Prouty until I seen her on 60 minutes. Her story actually penetrated threw the numbness and defense I generally get when I watch the news media but the same irritating question was there. " So what ISN'T being told?"
So I searched and the more I found the more I felt like I had to pick my own heart up off the floor. This woman has done nothing wrong. I know plenty of people that have married for all the wrong reasons and it certainly didn't raise many eyebrows or cause anyone to gasp in disbelief. But her reason was not to get rich, or to align herself for community or political power, or because she got pregnant and had too. She married to stay in the country that she deeply loves and believes in. Yes it's a crime but come on! Nothing about that makes you want to lock your doors and hide in fear does it?
I guess for me what was more important is what did she do after she gained her American citizenship? Well she went to college and in that process she was encouraged to apply with the FBI to be a special agent, and she got it. From there she has risked her life, even that of her unborn child to fight terrorism and apprehend terrorist that she successfully did regularly. So we can sleep a little sounder each night thanks to Mrs. Prouty being out there doing what she so loyally and honorably was willing to do for the country that she loves. We will probably never know what the dirty and self serving, hidden agenda of those 2 agents that framed her was and is, but despite their cowardly efforts it just seems to me that we as "The People" are smart enough to see the truth and stand up for and behind her as she did us everyday. I believe if we do, real justice can be done again, this time not by her for us, but by us for her. I for one think we need to do that not only for her, but for ourselves.
We don't have to face off with terrorist firing assault rifles at us like she did for us. We can actually sit in the comfort of our own home and write letters to Pres. Obama, Senators and who ever else you think can bring about some Justice for her, pardon her charges, and give her back her American citizenship. Our efforts are so small in comparison, but it might keep this American Patriot home in this country where she belongs and wants to be. She would again risk her life at the drop of a hat to protect America, even after all this... And after Victory is hers and she is a proud American citizen again... Maybe we can get her to start some classes for us... How to be a true and passionate American 101.
Respectfully,
T
